Elder Grove's Activities Director is Mike Rice. Mr. Rice previously was the Activities Director at Canyon Creek School for 7 years. Mr. Rice is also currently Elder Grove's Assistant Principal and an assistant boys basketball coach at Billings West High. He played college football at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He has four kids ages 11, 10, 6, and 3 with his wife, Lexie.
Mr. Rice's middle school athletics philosophy is to cultivate and foster student interest and skill development in specific sports while promoting and elevating good sportsmanship. Middle school athletics have a vital role in the overall total educational program and middle school experience. Elder Grove athletics are intended to promote student development on a physical, emotional, mental, and social level. And most importantly, the student athlete should have fun and look to the experience with a favorable memory.
