WELCOME!!    My name is Vicki Green and I am one of three 5th grade teachers your child will have this year.  I will be focusing on 5th grade Spelling, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.   I proudly joined the staff at Elder Grove in 2006.

Outside the classroom setting I enjoy fishing, camping, getting together with friends and family, supporting my children in sports, and even an occasional round of golf.

Inside the classroom, I am committed to my students and their education.  I enjoy watching them grow and mature during the school year.  Then before we have even realized it, the students and I have become a family too; a school family!   Our school family is not always happy at the same time, but we work together to help everyone in our family succeed and feel good about themselves.  We celebrate the successes, and work hard to encourage and support each other.  That is all part of what a “school family” does for one another.

With all that in mind, I feel that there should be good communication between home and school.  A “United Front” if you will.  Oftentimes, if a united front is not present, the student picks up on this, and will try to play school and home against one another in a way to get their needs met; whatever those needs may be.  Our ability to get in touch with each other is vital.  Ensuring that our school has current email addresses, telephone numbers, and cellular numbers will allow us to contact you promptly in case of emergencies, or conferences.

I can be reached via email at:  green@eldergrove.k12.mt.us , or by telephone, 656-2893 ext. 116.  Email is the quickest way to get information to me, however please DO NOT send me emergency emails.  If it is an emergency, contact our office and they will ensure the information gets to me right away.   Telephone calls during class time are NOT recommended.  Again, if there is an emergency during the day or a message you need to give your child, please call the main office, and the school secretary will ensure the information is passed along to me.  I will return your telephone message and emails, either before or after school, during my prep times, or when time allows me to do so.  My hours are 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday.

I am looking forward to working personally with your children, and getting to know them as their teacher.  Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any concerns at all.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Vicki Green
