As a Billings native Montana has always been my home. I fell in love with music at age eleven when I joined 5th grade band at Bench Elementary. I have had the opportunity to study jazz and woodwind performance with Erin Grummett, Andrew Dalhke, John Harle, and the late Ralph Sappington.
While attending the University of Northern Colorado I performed and toured with the UNC Wind Ensemble, UNC Jazz Lab II, The Fort Jazz Big Band, Rocky Mountain Saxophone Quartet, and the Estes Park Big Band. After Graduating with a Bachelor of Music in 2007 I toured as a performer for Carnival Cruise Lines: This included runs of the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Central America, Alaska, and Hawaii. I lived as a performer for over 5 years and had a blast visiting over 20 countries!
I completed a Master’s of Education from Montana State University Billings in 2013 and am currently in my 4th year as the director of bands and instructor of music here at Elder Grove School. Outside of Elder Grove I keep a rigorous private lesson studio, teach courses in music fundamentals at YBGR, and am the Adjunct Professor of Saxophone at Rocky Mountain College. I still love performing and I make it a habit to play around the greater Billings area a few times each month.
